Each collection is defined by the finest textured leathers and detail. The classic silhouettes that form the basis for each handbag in the collection are given character through the use of texture, hardware, and color. The end result is a design that is defined by character, just like the woman who choose to carry K Michelle handbags.
3. Please explain how did your line get started & why.
Even from an early age of 6, I had an imaginative mind for design. My first original designs were created for my Barbie dolls, I would secretly strip off fabric from anything I could get my hands on, my mother's dresses, sister's clothing, napkins you name it and create these designs. I've always love recreating things and making them my own. The creative concept stuck with me throughout the years in creating handbags. As a designer I recognized that there was a shortage of fine handbags that were attractive, affordable, and made in America, those the K Michelle brand was born.
4. Please mention something interesting about your line that you want
people to know about.
The products offered by K Michelle are attractive, appealing, and eye catching without being overpriced or using inferior materials and workmanship. Every K Michelle handbag uses only the finest leathers and materials; is made in America for the best workmanship possible.
5. Please discuss a design nightmare story.
My greatest and most memorable nightmare story happened in 2008, when a manufacturer who had produced my first samples was unexpectedly shut down by the department of immigration. So as a result, I never received the original samples and had to start over from scratch. I was so devastated. It was definitely a learning experience. Visitations are mandatory.
6. Finally, please share your greatest achievement in this process &
the reason why it is all worth it.
My greatest achievement in this process is through all my trial and errors, I never gave up on my dream. I know it only gets better.
