Most Socially Responsible HandbagWhat country are your bags manufactured?: MéxicoPlease explain how your bags are socially responsible?: We stimulate crafts´ tradition in different communities and practice fair trade. Do you work with local/native artisans to design your bags?: We work with Mixtec indigenous from Oaxaca (palm weavers). Why did you choose this country to have your bags made and what made you decided to give back?: I´m Mexican, I live and work in México. How have your bags impacted this community?: The practice of palm weaving is in danger of being lost for lack of income to support household expenditure in rural areas. Some of the weavers that work for us is the keepers of traditions in their communities. Most of them are women. With the additional money they get from the weavings they manufacture for Arbol de Viento they support their children's education. They pay bus fares, school supplies, school fees, etc. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
