1. I really like your purses. They have a whimsical style, and your process for designing a bag...for imagining the purchaser as you design it, sounds quite interesting! - MegExpressions from OR, January 18, 2010.

Like most artists I have a close connection with each design I produce. I am currently working on my private collection and exclusive one of a kinds. Muses mission is that each piece must evoke a feeling, some familiarity and an edgy spin on the norm. Captivate that loving feeling a woman gets when she has a bag that is truly special. My process begins organically. often I freestyle the design and make the pattern as i go. I show a bit of duality in all of my work. Possibly in the shape, color way or an alternative handle. My customer is a daring trendsetter that loves classic pieces. She may be a vintage collector who also shops at barneys and knows how to coordinate the new, old, classic and trendy.

My ongoing method is: I close my eyes, think of where she is going, and how she would like to feel and I channel that into the bag. Then I name her! In the start I don't like to over-plan the design. I feel that it takes away from the artisanship. The technical details can be revisited on the back end.

My line started in 2004 as a creative collaboration with a fashion stylist. I was working with a group of artists/photographers that were all art students (including myself.) My modeling career spawned an accessories line. I would make custom pieces for my photo shoots I knew I had something marketable when people started asking to buy them. Currently, The House of Muses is going to expand to other accessories and housewares!

I am a self taught handbag designer so you can imagine the things that I experimented with in the start! Mostly its the late night projects that cause you to make silly mistakes because of exhaustion! That said, I love the euphoria I get when I finish a bag. I was trained as a Graphic Artist/Photographer/Packaging & Advertising Designer. As a model I know my vision from the full spectrum of development, I also happen to be my own target group. I approach every design as a puzzle that must be solved. Solving a design challenge strokes the feeling of genius every time! Bags have to be functional and are on constant display for the public. I always test run my designs. I am my toughest critic.
